  • 510g unbleached flour
  • 115g salted butter
  • 100g brown sugar
  • 3 medium apples (cored, peeled, and finely diced)
  • For the glaze: 120g powdered sugar, 30g milk, and vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the sourdough starter with warm water and salt. Gradually mix in the flour until fully incorporated.
  2. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, then let it rise in an oiled bowl covered with a damp cloth for about 4-6 hours until doubled in size.
  3. Prepare the topping by mixing melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and diced apples in another bowl.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with reserved melted butter.
  5. Spread the risen dough into the prepared dish and evenly distribute the apple mixture on top. Bake for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
